Plants have always captured my attention, so it makes sense that they were among the very first subjects I was drawn to photograph.
Throughout my travels I have enjoyed extended periods of time in a variety of ecosystems. Making the acquaintance of local flora--noticing them, learning their names and histories, simply admiring them--was (and is) the way I like to get to know a place. Towards the end of my stay they'd start to feel like friends, and the place would feel that much more like "home".
This Soft Prairie Clover, native to the Mojave and Sonora deserts, is one of my favorites.
