We got out to the dunes a bit early for sunset. The sun was still sweltering, the sand was ablaze, the light...harsh. When the sun finally set behind the mountains we were graced with soft pinks and purples across the landscape. Even so, I preferred the sharp contrast provided by the earlier hours, and I liked those images even more when I processed them in black and white.
